2024 has been and gone, and with it we’ve gotten a vast array of great videogames, emerging defiantly from the rubble of a rapidly collapsing industry - we’ve had surprise indie smash hits, genre revivals and more than a few spectacular sequels that have surprised us simply by virtue of existing at all in a time where more and more games seem to be playing it safe.

But, for every game that comes out that bucks the boring trends of the big gaming publishers and takes the spotlight for a month or two, hundreds of other equally good titles never get to see the light of day at all, and more importantly - you never get to play them! That’s why every year The Architect rounds up a lit of 20 games from the last year that you should have played… but probably didn’t - to right this historical wrong and to give you the chance to play some games that you… probably should have already.
