Cal's Jake Spavital Hired As New Baylor Bear Offensive Coordinator! | Locked on Baylor Reaction

Baylor announced Thursday Dave Aranda will be adding former Cal OC Jake Spavital to run the offense in Waco, replacing Jeff Grimes. Spavital is known for running successful spread offenses over the last 15 years in places like Houston, Texas A&M and West Virginia.
A Dana Holgorsen disciple, Spavital has been either the QB coach or offensive coordinator for Brandon Weeden, Geno Smith, Johnny Manziel, Kyler Murray and Wil Grier. Spavital has never coached with Aranda, but the Baylor head coach holds a close personal relationship with Holgorsen, who worked with Spavital at Houston and two different stints at WVU.
