Delhi Airport Flight Delays: What is the ATC System that led to flight delays?

The glitch stemmed from the Automatic Message Switching System (AMSS), a core component of Delhi’s Air Traffic Control network. AMSS automatically receives, processes and routes flight‑plan data and weather information to controllers. When it failed, controllers had to generate plans manually, slowing operations and causing hundreds of delays across India’s busiest hub, and ripple effects at connecting airports nationwide today.
