A federal judge has thrown out the Seminole Tribe's sports betting compact with Florida. The judge ruled it violates federal law. A lawsuit filed by South Florida casino owners argued that the bets took place off tribal lands, allowing people to place bets from anywhere in the state.

So not only is the Seminole Hard Rock's sportsbook app illegal, but it also means that the Seminole Tribe can’t build any new casinos or expand their games to create Vegas-style casinos with craps and roulette.
