Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is set to tighten asylum rules on Monday, in an attempt to rein in an "out of control" system that she said was causing "huge division" across the country.

Mahmood will lay out reforms modelled on the Danish system, which aim to make the UK less attractive for illegal immigrants and make it easier to deport them.
