Dozens of extremists who pose a national security threat are being monitored around the clock because human rights laws stop the UK from deporting them. The Home Office says about 170 dangerous foreign nationals are living in Britain under strict controls, with over half linked to terrorism or extremism.
The revelations have led to fresh demands to overhaul human rights laws and even quit the European Convention on Human Rights, with critics calling it a “criminal’s charter” that protects the worst offenders.
