That same day, an Israeli airstrike destroyed municipal headquarters in southern Lebanon, killing 16, including the mayor, and wounding over 50. Lebanese officials condemned the attack, viewing it as evidence of Israel's shift to targeting the Lebanese state. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant stated Israel would continue its assault on Hezbollah.
