LIVE: Markets freefall amid Trump tariff mayhem

Watch live coverage of U.S. markets as U.S. stock futures sank Monday in an indication that the turmoil that began last week will continue to rip through markets. The hammer blow of President Donald Trump's tariffs reverberated around the world, across the major indexes in Europe and Asia, where markets opened to a bloodbath and automatic circuit breakers being triggered in some places to stop stocks crashing. As of early Monday, S&P 500 futures had fallen around 2.3%. Futures in the tech-heavy Nasdaq also fell about 2.4%, while futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined almost 900 points, or 2.3%, in volatile trading. Futures for the Russell 2000, which tracks the stocks of smaller companies, were off 2.5%. President Trump said Sunday evening on the market sell-off: “I don’t want anything to go down, but sometimes you have to take medicine to fix something.”
