Seven online sportsbooks will go live at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan announced Tuesday morning. It has taken a couple of years to get to this point since voters approved sports gambling in Maryland. The governor highlighted some key hurdles that led to the delay, saying he fast-tracked to make it happen by prioritizing awarding of mobile licenses, setting a firm timeline, providing drafts for mobile sports and brick-and-mortar locations and a rolling approval of licenses.
