Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley has called for a dramatic overhaul of the policing system, arguing that the current model is "so out of date".

He believes there should be a reduction in the 43 police forces across England and Wales and that a shake-up of the system is "overdue".

But residents in Yorkshire have criticised the plans.
