Pivot Point Trading | Momentum Trading with Pivot Points

In today's episode, Apurva Sheth is in conversation with Yogesh Nanda. He will teach us about Pivot Point Trading which is a momentum strategy. It can be used to trade index and even stocks or options.

Yogesh begins with explaining the importance of risk or money management during the trade. He warns that lack of this could lead to disaster; especially in futures and options. He also emphasizes on riding with the trend to increase trade success rate. Finding a bottom may not always be a good idea. Yogesh also insists to track price closely as a primary source for providing early signals in markets.

He further mentions that Pivot points are also derived from the prices just like RSI or MACD. The advantage of pivot points is that they can be used for any timeframe from daily to quarterly and yearly. Pivot points not only help in identifying the market trend but also in sighting the phase of stock in which it is trading; bullish or bearish.

Yogesh has shown us on charts how we can identify resistances and supports for a particular stock and identify trading opportunities objectively.
