신정락 확진에 프로야구 비상…KBO "2군 경기 중단 검토"
A South Korean baseball pitcher has tested positive with COVID-19, becoming the first sports figure in the country to be infected.
The Korea Baseball Organization said late Monday that Shin Jung-rak of the Hanwha Eagles was confirmed after showing symptoms since Saturday.
Shin's route of transmission is likely to be released early Tuesday.
The results will decide the fate of the KBO season, especially on the next match scheduled between Hanwha and Doosan Bears on Tuesday evening.
Under the league's health and safety rules, any player, team or league staff that have come into contact with Shin will be quarantined for 14 days.
The rest of the team will be allowed to continue on with the season.
