In this video, Mike Wade does a book review of a book called the Zen of Gambling by Paul Pease and Wayne Allyn Root. This book is mostly a story of the authors, Wayne Allyn Roots, life. He talks a lot about his life and his failures, and doesn't get to gambling until a little bit later.

We take you through our sports betting tutorial, tips and advice. This sports betting book is a great read and we recommend it for all new sports bettors in the United States.

Though the book came out in 2004 so the references are a little bit dated, the book still holds up almost two decades later. It brings value to all of the experiences shared by the author. A lot of the concepts mentioned by the author still hold up today.

Starting with the bad- this books comes across as somewhat of a sales pitch about the author. It ends up having a lot of information about the author and how he made all his money as a self made man. He makes a correlation to gambling and wall street/poker, and should have just focused on sports gambling like the march madness information.

What was good about the book was the authors general take on gambling and how it has held up after all these years. A lot of the sports betting concepts in this book are still true today, such as being a contrarian sports bettor and going against the grain.

Another good piece of advice is going against the talking heads on the media machine. The book goes through how to apply that to sports gambling, such as how the public loves to bet on overs and favorites. Whereas a sports gambling technique is to bet the opposite of that.
