These scientists just won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for figuring out how your immune system knows not to attack YOU.

Your immune system is full of these special cells called T-Cells. Each one has a unique receptor - like a lock and key - that lets it recognize infected cells.

But since there are lots of different infections, your body makes millions of different T-cells, EACH ready to spot a new intruder.
