There is no more make-or-break moment in a game’s success than the launch. Launching a game is a balancing act between a developer’s publisher, producers, and worst of all their audience. Bring out a game too soon and you risk being underprepared, delay a game's release and you build either frustration or hype, both of which put weight on the reception of a release. Plenty of games have been released to a meat grinder being torn limb from limb by the public, never to be played again. But some games have experienced this, and in the wake of their total obliteration slowly rose back up, taping their limbs back on and eventually becoming games that were not only good but games that were great.
