This project just crossed a major milestone.

In today’s video, Dan from @quarryviewwoodworks4259 comes out to the farm to deliver the floor system for our timber frame building, marking the transition from groundwork to real structure. We start by walking through the final foundation setup that Kurt and I completed, explaining how the building will be attached to the piers and why this step matters so much for the longevity of the structure.

From there, we unload the floor system components, lay everything out, and begin assembling the floor system on-site. Seeing the footprint of the building come together makes this project feel real in a way it hasn’t before.

Along the way, we also talk through a minor design mistake we caught during assembly—what happened, why it matters, and how we’re addressing it before moving forward. No project like this is perfect, and we believe showing the small corrections is just as important as showing the wins.

We wrap up the video with a look at the finished floor system and discuss what’s coming next as we continue moving toward raising the timber frame.
