Will sports betting become a reality in Massachusetts?

Massachusetts legislators took a big step toward joining more than 30 other states in making sports betting a reality this week when the state Senate passed its version of a legalized sports gambling bill. However, there are some significant differences between their bill and the one the House passed nine months prior. Talking Politics Host Adam Reilly spoke with Shira Schoenberg, a reporter at Commonwealth magazine, and Father Richard McGowan, an associate professor of finance at Boston College's Carroll School of Management, about the big differences and whether we might ever see a compromise.

Plus, the statewide races are heating up when it comes to campaign finances. Massachusetts state Senator Sonia Chang-Díaz called on Attorney General Maura Healey to reject all campaign donations tied to fossil fuels in the race for governor. And Quentin Palfrey, a Democratic candidate for Attorney General, called on his opponents to reject outside "special interest" spending. Boston Herald reporter Sean Phillip Cotter and GBH's Saraya Wintersmith joined Adam to discuss those calls, former state Senator Dianne Wilkerson apparently reading a run for her old seat and more.
