2022 is almost upon us, and to celebrate here’s a Dutch advert for the Staatsloterij Lottery.
While walking his dog on (I assume) New Year’s Eve, A man stops into a shop and buys a lottery ticket. On the way back, the hound sees a bitch that’s better looking. At home, the owner says if they win, they’ll get the most beautiful things. This makes the poor pup dream of them getting the finer dog. So, fido runs off into the night, to never be seen, again. The next morning the master is calling the dog for breakfast. “Frekkel!” He calls, but nothing. They check every nook and cranny but he just ain’t is there. Heartbroken, he prints up a bunch of fliers and hands ‘em out. Even posting them around town. On a cold rainy day of sorrow, they’re miserable as fawk. When all of a sudden, the doorbell rings. They answer, and a young couple found Frekkel! The husband runs back inside grabs the ticket and gives it to the couple. It was the winner and he offered it as the reward for bringing Frekkel Back. The Jackpot was €30 Million.
Oh, how that just waters your eye sockets. They gave up being millionaires to find their puppy. That is true love. I don’t know if that’s how it’d work in real life. But it warms the heart on this cold winter’s night. See ya in the New Year.
